BMW India Launches 535i, 523i & 530d, 525d: New 5 Series Petrol & Diesel Variants
The new BMW 5 Series was unveiled today at the exclusive BMW pavilion which has been specially constructed for the launch in India. The new BMW 5 Series is available in two petrol variants – 535i and 523i and two diesel variants – 530d and 525d and can be ordered at BMW dealerships across India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Peter Kronschnabl, President, BMW India said, "The 5 Series is the core model in our product portfolio. Each generation of the BMW 5 Series has been a winner and has played a major role in the company's success around the world. And we intend to keep it that way in India. You can imagine what high expectations we have of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan: It has to live up to its highly successful predecessor both in terms of innovative technology and sales achievements."

Dakota leather is the standard upholstery for the new BMW 5 Series and is available in the following colour combinations: Oyster / Black, Black / Black, Vento Beige / Vento Beige, Oyster / Oyster dark and Cinnamon Brown / Black. The new BMW 5 Series Sedan is entering the market with the world’s first straight-six petrol engine with Twin Power Turbo, High Precision Injection and Valvetronic (225 kW/306 hp) in the BMW 535i as well as straight-six petrol engine in the BMW 523i (150 kW/204 hp). The latest generation of straight-six diesels featuring an all-aluminium crankcase and common-rail direct injection develop 180 kW/245 hp in BMW 530d and 150 kW/204 hp in BMW 525d.
Eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard with the BMW 523i and the BMW 525d. Eight Speed Sports Automatic transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel is standard feature on the BMW 535i and theBMW 530d . With its innovative gear set configuration, a unique level of inner efficiency and optimised weight, the eight-speed automatic transmission combines outstanding gearshift comfort, dynamic performance and efficiency of the highest level.
The combination of a double track arm front axle and the Integral-V rear axle ensures supreme driving dynamics and motoring comfort all in one. Further efficiency is provided by Electric Power Steering (EPS) including Servotronic as standard feature for the first time in the BMW 5 Series. Tata Motors Launches New Indica Vista Drivetech4: New Generation Car in India
Tata Motors has launched an all-new Indica Vista range, the Indica Vista Drivetech4, with a host of new features and a thrilling driving experience, to take the encouraging market response to the company's new generation car to a new high.
The BS-4 compliant Indica Vista Drivetech4 has a specially designed Eurotech gearbox perfectly mated to the Vista Drivetech4 Quadrajet diesel and Safire petrol engines. It ensures higher torque at low RPMs, minimal vibration, precise gear shifting, longer engine life and cooled exhaust gas recirculation for lower emissions. All these together result in superior handling, exciting zip and a never-before driving experience. The same degree of refinement and driveability is also being offered on BS-3 engines.
The other new features include a 4-spoke tilt-adjustable steering wheel and height-adjustable driver's seat enabling customised driving positions. Yamaha FZ-16 & Yamaha FZ-S Bikes Comes With New Colors in India
Riding on the grand success of its muscular and hottest-looking FZ16 and FZ-S bikes, India Yamaha is introducing new color schemes and graphics to add more zing to their appeal. Also, the company will communicate both FZ16 and FZ-S under a single style statement – Stylish Macho. The FZ series are very popular amongst youngsters and have been a prized possession of more than 1 lakh happy customers.
In 2009 fiscal, the company sold 85,000 units of FZ16 & FZ-S, contributing to 40% of total sales volume. The new FZ-S will be available in Black Cyber Green, Silver Tech and Sport Electric Blue colors while new FZ16 will come in Lava Red and Midnight Black. The all new stylish graphics and change in the color of some body parts will compliment the overall macho expression of these bikes. Further, Yamaha has incorporated new logo which will give these bikes more masculine feel. These bikes will be BSIII emissions regulations compliant.
Speaking on the latest versions of FZ16 and FZ-S, Koji Arai, Director & Chief Sales Officer , India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said, “With the refreshed versions of FZ16 and FZ-S, we want to strengthen our presence in the highly competitive 150cc+ segment and increase our share from 12% to 20% by year-end. We have kept the essence of FZ series bikes intact while altering the aesthetics to exemplify the masculine feeling these tough machines are known for. The stylish graphics will take the street fighter image to its next level.”
The bikes boast of 153cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder high torque engine for active & aggressive city riding. The engine is born out of the quest for the ultimate in intake efficiency, combustion efficiency and minimum horsepower loss. A negative pressure type F26mm carburetor with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) contributes to outstanding engine response. The 5-speed transmission provides a smooth operational touch and the gear ratios provide optimum performance and agility in city riding.
The placement of ‘MidShip Muffler’ is toward the center of the machine to achieve good concentration of mass, exhaust efficiency and handling. Monocross rear suspension ensures agile running performance and handling. The bikes also have “140/60-17” size rear radial with a 60% aspect ratio that contributes to better grip and handling stability.
FZ series bikes are designed & engineered with the potential for active and even aggressive enjoyment of around-town street-riding and styling that brings pride of ownership. การเปิดตัวยางรถจักรยานยนต์ครั้งนี้ได้ 2 นักแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์มือพระกาฬ อย่าง "เฮียตี๋ มหาชัย" หรือสมบูรณ์ แห่ง SRY และ “เสี่ยบาส” แห่งร้าน ลิขิต เรซซิ่ง เข้ามาเล่าถึงแนวทางการตกแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์ที่นอกเหนือจากรูปแบบของแฟริ่งต่างๆ แล้ว ยางรถจักรยานยนต์เป็นอีกส่วนประกอบหนึ่งที่มีความสำคัญไม่ยิ่งหย่อนไปกว่ากันในยุคสมัย
“ลายไฟ” ที่ถูกแกะเป็นลายดอกยาง รุ่นไวด์ แฟลร์ เป็นอีกมิติของผู้ชื่นชอบการตกแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์ ที่ไม่ต้องการลงทุนมาก เพียงแค่ลายดอกยาง ก็เพียงพอที่จะดึงดูดสายตาทุกคู่บนท้องถนนได้แล้ว
ซาโตชิ อากาสึกา กล่าวว่า ในประเทศญี่ปุ่น WF-910 (Wild Flare) เริ่มเปิดตัวครั้งแรกในปี 2536 ซึ่งช่วงเวลานั้น “ลายไฟ” ได้รับความนิยมในกลุ่มผู้ใช้รถจักรยานยนต์ประเภทครุยเซอร์ ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา บริษัท อีโนเว รับเบอร์จำกัด ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ได้มีการพิจารณาว่าจะใช้ลายไฟกับยางได้อย่างไร
ครั้งแรกได้มีการออกแบบลายไฟสำหรับยางหลังเท่านั้น เนื่องจากยางหน้ามีขนาดเล็กแคบ
แล้วยางรหัส WF-920 ก็ได้เปิดตัวอีกครั้งในปี 2539 กับซูซูกิ (Desperado) พร้อมได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนการออกแบบจากลาย WF-910 เป็น WF-920 เนื่องจากรถซูซูกิรุ่นนี้ ยางหน้ามีลักษณะทรงอ้วน IRC จึงได้มีการปรับปรุงการออกแบบให้เกิดความสมดุลของร่องยางเพื่อความเสถียรของยาง
ส่วน WF-930 เปิดตัวเมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 2548 ซึ่งลายไฟได้รับความนิยมมากในรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ ในประเทศญี่ปุ่น ไออาร์ซีจึงเริ่มใช้ลายไฟกับยางรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ สำหรับรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ตกแต่งและการออกแบบลายของ WF-930 ได้ปรับปรุงพัฒนาจาก WF-920 ในส่วนของการขับเคลื่อน เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการสำหรับผู้ใช้รถสกู๊ตเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ ขอบยางมีการออกแบบเป็นลายไฟเช่นกัน เพื่อให้ลูกค้าสามารถทาสีบริเวณขอบยางที่เป็นลายไฟได้
“ยางรุ่นใหม่นี้เราเลือกโครงสร้างและเนื้อยางแบบคอมเปาว์คุณภาพสูง เพราะต้องการตอบสนองความต้องการของผู้ขับขี่ในเรื่องของความสมดุลและสมรรถนะในการขับขี่ โดยเฉพาะการเกาะถนน ทั้งถนนเปียกและถนนแห้ง มีความนุ่มนวลในการขับขี่ และการควบคุมทำได้อย่างมั่นใจ เราเชื่อว่ายางลายไฟจะถูกใจผู้ใช้และได้รับความนิยมสูงสุดสำหรับรถจักรยานยนต์ออโตเมติกทุกประเภท” นายซาโตชิ กล่าว
ขณะที่ พิเชฐ ตังคไชยนันท์ ผู้จัดการขายกลุ่มผลิตภัณฑ์ 2 บริษัท สิทธิผล 1919 จำกัด กล่าวว่า บริษัทในฐานะตัวแทนจำหน่ายยางรถจักรยานยนต์ไออาร์ซี คิดว่ายางลายไฟจะเพิ่มยอดขายได้อย่างแน่นอน ด้วยคุณสมบัติที่ดีมีคุณภาพ รูปลักษณ์ที่สวยงาม โดนใจวัยรุ่นขาโจ๋ที่ใช้รถจักรยานยนต์ออโตเมติกทุกประเภท และสามารถเป็นอุปกรณ์ตกแต่งให้เกิดความสวยงามได้

การเปิดตัวยางรถจักรยานยนต์ครั้งนี้ได้ 2 นักแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์มือพระกาฬ อย่าง "เฮียตี๋ มหาชัย" หรือสมบูรณ์ แห่ง SRY และ “เสี่ยบาส” แห่งร้าน ลิขิต เรซซิ่ง เข้ามาเล่าถึงแนวทางการตกแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์ที่นอกเหนือจากรูปแบบของแฟริ่งต่างๆ แล้ว ยางรถจักรยานยนต์เป็นอีกส่วนประกอบหนึ่งที่มีความสำคัญไม่ยิ่งหย่อนไปกว่ากันในยุคสมัย
“ลายไฟ” ที่ถูกแกะเป็นลายดอกยาง รุ่นไวด์ แฟลร์ เป็นอีกมิติของผู้ชื่นชอบการตกแต่งรถจักรยานยนต์ ที่ไม่ต้องการลงทุนมาก เพียงแค่ลายดอกยาง ก็เพียงพอที่จะดึงดูดสายตาทุกคู่บนท้องถนนได้แล้ว
ซาโตชิ อากาสึกา กล่าวว่า ในประเทศญี่ปุ่น WF-910 (Wild Flare) เริ่มเปิดตัวครั้งแรกในปี 2536 ซึ่งช่วงเวลานั้น “ลายไฟ” ได้รับความนิยมในกลุ่มผู้ใช้รถจักรยานยนต์ประเภทครุยเซอร์ ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา บริษัท อีโนเว รับเบอร์จำกัด ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ได้มีการพิจารณาว่าจะใช้ลายไฟกับยางได้อย่างไร
ครั้งแรกได้มีการออกแบบลายไฟสำหรับยางหลังเท่านั้น เนื่องจากยางหน้ามีขนาดเล็กแคบ
แล้วยางรหัส WF-920 ก็ได้เปิดตัวอีกครั้งในปี 2539 กับซูซูกิ (Desperado) พร้อมได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนการออกแบบจากลาย WF-910 เป็น WF-920 เนื่องจากรถซูซูกิรุ่นนี้ ยางหน้ามีลักษณะทรงอ้วน IRC จึงได้มีการปรับปรุงการออกแบบให้เกิดความสมดุลของร่องยางเพื่อความเสถียรของยาง
ส่วน WF-930 เปิดตัวเมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 2548 ซึ่งลายไฟได้รับความนิยมมากในรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ ในประเทศญี่ปุ่น ไออาร์ซีจึงเริ่มใช้ลายไฟกับยางรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ สำหรับรถสกู๊ตเตอร์ตกแต่งและการออกแบบลายของ WF-930 ได้ปรับปรุงพัฒนาจาก WF-920 ในส่วนของการขับเคลื่อน เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการสำหรับผู้ใช้รถสกู๊ตเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ ขอบยางมีการออกแบบเป็นลายไฟเช่นกัน เพื่อให้ลูกค้าสามารถทาสีบริเวณขอบยางที่เป็นลายไฟได้
“ยางรุ่นใหม่นี้เราเลือกโครงสร้างและเนื้อยางแบบคอมเปาว์คุณภาพสูง เพราะต้องการตอบสนองความต้องการของผู้ขับขี่ในเรื่องของความสมดุลและสมรรถนะในการขับขี่ โดยเฉพาะการเกาะถนน ทั้งถนนเปียกและถนนแห้ง มีความนุ่มนวลในการขับขี่ และการควบคุมทำได้อย่างมั่นใจ เราเชื่อว่ายางลายไฟจะถูกใจผู้ใช้และได้รับความนิยมสูงสุดสำหรับรถจักรยานยนต์ออโตเมติกทุกประเภท” นายซาโตชิ กล่าว
ขณะที่ พิเชฐ ตังคไชยนันท์ ผู้จัดการขายกลุ่มผลิตภัณฑ์ 2 บริษัท สิทธิผล 1919 จำกัด กล่าวว่า บริษัทในฐานะตัวแทนจำหน่ายยางรถจักรยานยนต์ไออาร์ซี คิดว่ายางลายไฟจะเพิ่มยอดขายได้อย่างแน่นอน ด้วยคุณสมบัติที่ดีมีคุณภาพ รูปลักษณ์ที่สวยงาม โดนใจวัยรุ่นขาโจ๋ที่ใช้รถจักรยานยนต์ออโตเมติกทุกประเภท และสามารถเป็นอุปกรณ์ตกแต่งให้เกิดความสวยงามได้
สำหรับยางไออาร์ซี ไวด์ แฟลร์ รหัส WF-920 มี 3 ขนาด ประกอบด้วย ขนาด 80/90-14 WF-920F TL ขนาด 90/80 14WF-920R TL และขนาด 100/70-14 WF-920R TL วางจำหน่ายตั้งแต่เดือนมกราคม 2553 และจะมีขนาดเพิ่มเติมสำหรับรถออโตเมติกเมืองไทย ครบทุกรุ่น เร็วๆ นี้

BMW TO LAUNCH ELECTRIC CAR IN 2013
In this era of global warming, car manufacturers are competing to produce emission free cars. Famous German car manufacturer BMW motors, is planning to launch its eco-friendly, emission free car. This all electric 4-door car which is expected to roll out in 2013. Earlier, BMW motors had planned to launch it by 2015. BMW seems to have changed their mind as their major rival Mercedes Benz announced the launch of an electric version of its mini "Smart" car as well as the Mercedes A Class this year. Volkswagen's electric car also is expected to touch the roads in 2013.
The name, price and other details of the new BMW eco friendly car has not yet released.
With so many eco-cars on thier way, it will be quite interesting to note whether they match the Indian conditions and how competively they are priced.
