In the heart of the car's sporty nature of the all-new 1.6-liter THP 147 kW (200 hp), which was launched at the same time the Peugeot RCZ Coupe, a key factor in the overall efficiency of the Peugeot 308 GTi.
Combining a number of innovative technologies – THP (Twin-Scroll turbocharger and direct petrol injection), and VTi (variable valve lift and valve timing) – this engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, offers high levels of driveability.

Its maximum power of 147 kW is available from 5500 to 6800 rpm, combined with a constant maximum torque of 275 Nm between 1700 and 4500 rpm, the 308 GTi also offers particularly low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The sound of the engine is also particularly distinctive during acceleration thanks to the adoption of Sound System technology.

The new 1.6 litre THP 147 kW (200 bhp) engine under the bonnet of the Peugeot 308 GTI and the RCZ sports coupé is efficient in every sense of the word: generous torque and power, very low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and fully compliant with the Euro 5 emission standard.
THP (Turbo-charged High-Pressure) with a Twin-Scroll turbocharger for performance and instantaneous response at very low engine speeds; direct petrol injection ensuring optimal fuel consumption;
VTi (Variable valve and Timing injection) with variable lift of the intake valves coupled with variable timing of the intake and exhaust camshafts, for reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions
The exhaust gas flow can accelerates the turbocharger turbine to a speed of 220,000 rpm. A pressure valve (waste gate) operates if the intake air pressure rises above a maximum boost pressure of 1.3 bars.

This system ensures remarkable engine responsiveness, since the turbo boost begins at 1000 rpm, enabling the engine to produce its maximum torque from just 1700 rpm. High-pressure direct injection, for optimal overall efficiency Direct petrol injection makes it possible to combine a high engine output with low fuel consumption. The high-pressure injectors spray fuel directly and laterally into the combustion chamber at a maximum pressure of 120 bars. The fuel, evenly distributed into the combustion chamber, allows improved combustion and therefore enhanced overall efficiency of the engine. This turbocharged petrol engine also benefits from a relatively high compression ratio of 10.5 :1.

Peugeot’s regenerative breaking system will bring in boost of 80 hp and depend on lithium-ion batteries. This is similar to the first generation Zytek hybrid, utilizing a battery storage system instead of a flywheel-based unit which Porsche implemented in their race car 911 GT3 R Hybrid. Additional fuel saving will be achieved by using electric-only mode in the pit-lane, which is under ACO rules, and Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 will bank on it. Main power unit will be all-new 550-horsepower 3.7-liter V8 turbodiesel, backed up by a six-speed sequential gearbox.

The system provides a short power boost of 60kW (80hp) for a few seconds when it is activated. Recovered energy (500kJ between two braking phases) is stored in lithium-ion batteries before being automatically released to power the rear wheels under acceleration (there is no "push to pass" function). It will also be possible to run in electric only mode along the pit-lane and it is this mode that will be used for the car's homologation.

Not for long, let us review a car bearing the Lions are coming from Europe. In terms of design, no doubt, Peugeot 3008 does contain elements that suggest stylish Peugeot 3008 is the birth of Europe. This car presents different shades when seen from front, side and rear.

Grille design that opened wide, like a lion ready to pounce on its prey. But it only serves to smooth the wind into the machine cabin. Enhanced grille design with black accents. From the front, such as not using a car bumper. But still solid.

If viewed from the side, impressed Peugeot 3008 round. Cars like holding something in her ass. While from behind, you're not going to think that 3008 is the crossover. But again it was only European style.

Entered the passenger cabin, eyes wide to the front. Areas to watch out for any black spots well. Opinion that since the adoption of wide-open windshield. You like standing in front of the inside of a city bus.

Meanwhile, there is a divider in the middle or called console. It turned out that in addition to the slick design also functioned as a cool box. Just open the lid, you can keep the beverage to remain fresh.

Interior Peugeot 3008 were myriad. Just look, from the CD, Audio Aux ins and other compartments to pamper users. Entertainment features that you can operate via a lever located behind the steering wheel to the right.

In addition there are cruise control located on the left side of the wheel. From behind the wheel, you can also adjust the speedometer lights. And rear passengers do not have to worry about overheating.

Even twisted the ignition key to On. Engine capacity of 1598 cc 16 Valve VVT EP6CDT turbocharger capable of producing power 156PS at 5800 rpm and torque of 20nm at 1400 rpm sounds fine.

In the center console, you can customize the i-drive option. There are D, F with the shift stick shift forward and back ("+" and "-") with 6 speed.

And S for you who want to experience a more responsive engine. There is also a snow mode choice. To run, you simply step on the brake and put the lever in D. After that gas alone without the need to release the hand brake. Because of a computer to read if the machine requires energy to the road. Easy is not it?

The engine is very responsive unlike crossover machine classmates from Japan. When asked to racing, Peugeot quite steady. Up to speed 170 km / h, Peugeot 3008 remain on track.

For safety features, Peugeot applied ABS, EBD, EBA, ESP and 6 airbags in the passenger cabin.

Character suspension is a little hard but the car still does not remove the strange symptoms. However, unfortunately when asked to maneuver to the left and right of the car is a little heavy.

And one of the highlights of Peugeot 3008, when looking at the indicator panel gasoline, Peugeot average drink 1 liter of petrol for a distance of 8.8 kilometers.
